Add intelligence without adding a dependency
A plant should not require model availability to maintain essential control. Industrial Intelligence Systems is designed as an additional layer. When it stops, existing controls should retain their function and staff should know which observation or interpretation capability is unavailable.
What the system contributes
If the OrvixLabs layer stops, existing industrial control continues. That property is deliberate: observe first, demonstrate value second, enable bounded capabilities only when evidence justifies it. Automation is earned, not assumed.
Degradation must be visible
Missing signals or connectivity cannot leave the appearance of a complete diagnosis. The system displays the condition and limits recommendations that depended on those sources. Safe fallback is agreed with operations rather than improvised during an incident.
Testing shutdown is part of testing the product
Evaluation covers source loss, cognitive-layer interruption and recovery. It checks what keeps working and how records resume. Automation is enabled in stages using observed evidence. Continuity is not demonstrated by a sales claim; it belongs in the installation's acceptance process.
