An opportunity can have two sides
What looks attractive to a producer may not fit the elevator's exposure. Before preparing contact, Vector should check the relevant contract and position. Detecting a notable price is not enough; the relationship to the actual transaction terms matters.
What the system contributes
A market signal is useful only if the exact contract pricing formula is correct and the elevator is hedged against the corresponding operation. A price high may be interesting for the producer and financially harmful for the elevator. Vector keeps those two realities separate.
An alert must explain its support
The responsible person needs to see the formula used, information freshness and what was actually verified. If an element is missing, the system should not fill the gap with a favourable assumption. An alert awaiting verification remains pending even when the commercial moment seems urgent.
Work with the trading team, not around it
Implementation is reviewed with people who understand contracts and positions. Cases that should attract attention and cases that should be rejected are tested. The team can then understand the criterion before authorising contact, rather than allowing automation to create additional unreviewed exposure.
