What Mercado Libre integration is
Mercado Libre integration connects a seller account’s listings, stock, prices and sales with the company’s internal system through the platform’s official API. Every sale then flows into orders and invoicing automatically, stock is reduced across all channels and nobody has to copy data from one screen to another.
Who it is for
Companies selling on Mercado Libre and also on Tiendanube, their own web store, WhatsApp or a physical shop, in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and the other countries where Mercado Libre operates. As sales grow, the manual work of updating stock, moving orders and answering questions becomes the bottleneck, and mistakes cost complaints and seller reputation.
Syncing stock and prices across channels
The most common problem is selling something that is gone because one channel’s stock was not updated. The fix is a single source of truth, the inventory management system, publishing availability to every channel. The platforms publish developer APIs to sync stock and prices, including stock held in several warehouses when the account uses that feature. Price changes can require approval before they go live.
Orders into the internal system
Every Mercado Libre or Tiendanube sale becomes an order in the company’s system with buyer, products and shipping data. It follows the same flow as orders from other channels: picking, dispatch, invoicing and tracking. That flow is described in the order management system.
Mercado Pago integration
Mercado Pago provides developer tools to create payment links, take payments on your own store and receive automatic notifications when a payment is approved or rejected. With that information, the system can mark an order as paid, release it for picking or notify the customer, without checking the account by hand. It also works for orders taken over WhatsApp.
Tiendanube integration
Tiendanube publishes an API so that external applications can read and update a store’s products, stock, orders and customers. Tiendanube integration lets the online store and Mercado Libre share the same stock and send orders from both to the same place. For other platforms or systems the approach is the same, described in API and systems integration.
Buyer questions and after-sales with AI
Buyer questions tend to repeat: dimensions, compatibility, shipping, warranty. An AI assistant can draft or send answers using the listing’s real information and live stock, following the company’s rules and the platform’s policies. Doubtful or sensitive cases go to a person. The same logic serves WhatsApp customer service with real order status, as in the WhatsApp AI chatbot.
Invoicing
Each sale can generate its invoice in the company’s system, integrated with each country’s tax service; in Argentina, for example, electronic invoices are issued through ARCA. The goal is that sale, payment and invoice stay linked without entering anything twice. Returns and cancellations follow the same path, so a refund on the marketplace is reflected in stock, in the order and in the accounting records, and the finance team can reconcile marketplace payouts against individual orders instead of working from monthly totals.
Care and limits
Working with the Mercado Libre API and the other platforms means respecting their permissions, usage limits and seller policies. That is why the integration only uses official channels, requests the minimum permissions it needs and records every change it sends. If a platform does not respond, changes are queued and retried instead of being lost. New listings, bulk price changes and replies about complaints can require review by a person before they go out. Credentials are stored securely and access can be revoked from the seller account at any time.
How it is implemented
- A review of accounts, channels, catalogue and internal system.
- Authorization of the application on each platform with the minimum permissions needed.
- Stock and price sync, first in testing and then in production.
- Orders, payments and invoicing.
- Measurement of out-of-stock sales, dispatch time and manual work against the previous situation.
Working with the Mercado Libre API requires care with permissions and limits; we only use the official channels each platform provides.
